 I just got back from seeing this movie and I was debating even reviewing it because there will be tons of review of it by the time I post this. This is a very creative superhero story that even surpasses the other X-Men movies,although I find the two( X-Men and X-2: X-Men united) to be very well done. This is a story not just about mutants and their abilities but also a story about how both sides of mutant equality are right and wrong in their efforts in how to achieve it.


Charles Xavier(James McAvoy) wants to help educate the humans not to fear mutants while Eric Lensherr(Michael Fassbinder) want to destroy the humans for all all the hatred and attacks that have been put upon their kind. It is very fitting that this movie is set in the sixties because during that time the civil rights movement was in full effect and The X-Men represented it truthfully. Professor X is very much like Martin Luther King who wants peace among everybody while Magneto is very influenced by Malcolm X who believes that no one should have to live in fear Both sides are right in their ideas and I could really understand the torment some of the mutants were going through, trying to choose what side they want to belong to. It's difficult to decide on who I would follow because both sides make very valid points. No one should ever have to live in fear of anyone else but at the same time I don't feel like we should evoke fear on others just to make them understand us. Since this is a superhero movie there has to be one bad guy both sides  have to take down. That character is Sebastian Shaw(Kevin Bacon) a mutant who wants to divide the world by creating a nuclear catastrophe. There was nothing wrong with the acting, he just really did not need to be there. The nuclear attacks could have still happened even without him. The real tension is between Charles and Eric and the movie should have focused more on that than anything else. The use of real world events like the Cuban Missile crises in a fictional story is a very good idea and it will be interesting to see how mutants will play a role in other upcoming social events.

X-Men: First Class was directed by Matthew Vaughn whose previous films included "Kick-Ass" and "Stardust". He does a really good job at adapting the original source material while at the same time still able to give it his own look. The movie features a lot of great characters that I remember from the books while also introducing new characters I am not that familiar with. It also features a memorable cameo from one of my favorite X-Men that I'm not going to reveal but it is pretty sweet when you see it. This is the X-Men as it should be seen on the big screen.









Some Sexy Mutants I want to get freaky with.

X-Men First Class has some pretty damn good looking woman who I can't imagine anyone running away from. The only non mutant is Moria MacTaggert played by Rose Byrne but I could not leave her off the list. So Let's take a quick look at some of these ladies now.

 Janurary Jones is Emma Frost.

Jennifer Lawrence is Mystique .

Zoe Kravitz is Angel Salvadore.

Rose Byrne is Moria MacTaggert .
