'Blues Brothers' readies for primetime - Entertainment News, TV News, Media - Variety

                                            (Theatrical Poster.)
Dear Readers.

It looks like our favorite men in black could be back, but this time in a television series.  John Belushi's widow Judy along with several other writers including Anne Beatts from "Saturday Night Live" are writing the pilot.  No word on who would be cast in the lead roles yet.

"The Blues Brothers" is one of the best musical comedies of all time , but I'm a little worried about them trying to breath new life into these characters.  Have they forgot about the outright shame that was "Blues Brothers 2000".  That movie only had half of the original duo and it tanked at the box office. I can't really imagine a series with new actors taking on the iconic roles to be any better.

What do you think of this series? Send me your thoughts.

  1. The concept was hilarious in 1979/1980, when NOBODY was listening to the blues. The humor doesn't work anymore because blues had a huge revival in the 80s and has not really gone away since.

  2. That's true. Plus this new version is being produced by members of "Glee" I belive and that's a mistake right there.
