The Weekend Watch: 07/06/2012

This week's edition will be very short, and that is because I am going away to ConVergence this weekend. If you don't know, ConVergence is what Comic-Con use to be before it got all mainstream. You won't see any celebrities here pimping their latest flicks. Just writers, creators and fellow geeks like myself who love talking about all sorts of genre shit. I will post pictures from the event after I get back and will give you peeps a nice low down of what happened that weekend.

Now on to the flicks.

The Amazing Spider-Man

Even though I am a big fan of Sam Raimi's original trilogy, this one does have my interest.  I am only  a little upset that they have to tell the whole origin story all over again, but the inclusion of adding Gwen Stacy(Emma Stone) does make it a completely new take on the web crawler's adventures.    I found a funny review from "Funny or" that I thought I would share with you. Just click on the highlighted words to view.

Two pot dealers(Aaron Johnson, Taylor Kitsch)  go to war against the Mexican drug cartel in this latest movie from Oliver Stone.  This looks to be on the same kind of wild, rebellious, film style that his "Natural Born Killers"and "U-Turn" were.   John Travolta and Salma Hayek look to be hamming it up in a few places, but they look to be the most fun in this.  Of  all the movies listed here, this is one I would gladly pay full price for.

Katy Perry: Part Of Me.

Good old Sparkle-Tits( Her "Fireworks" video gave me that idea) has a movie out this weekend, and it's been getting a lot of good reviews .  The movie takes place during Katy Perry worldwide tour which also chronicles her break up to actor Russell Brand as well.  As much as a few of us love to gossip about all the celebrity drama.  We can tend to forget that these are real people who have just had their hearts broken.    I'm not a huge fan of her music, but I'm not ashamed to admit that I wouldn't mind seeing this. I just would not pay full price to.

Next week I will have more titles I swear.   Have a good weekend.

  1. LOL @ Sparkle-Tits. Actually this isn't a bad week for movies. I'd probably watch the Katy Perry movie - even though 3D concert films have been one of the worst ideas to enter theaters.

    1. It also doesn't hurt that Katy is very nice on the eyes as well
